A Note from Momma: Dr. Lyle

It is with great sadness that I share that Dr. Jim Lyle, the wonderful physician who delivered Reese, passed away this morning. For the last year, Dr. Lyle has been fighting lymphoma. He has kept a blog to update his friends and patients on his condition. Dr. Lyle underwent a bone marrow transplant earlier this year, but unfortunately, it was not able to take all the cancer away.

Dr. Lyle was an outstanding physician, and I doubt I will ever know another like him. He was so kind and caring, with so much positive energy and optimism, even throughout this tough battle he has fought. He was a huge Auburn fan, and we always talked about Auburn when I had a doctor visit. He has seven grandchildren who live in Auburn, and he visited there often. I really cannot say enough kind things about Dr. Lyle - He was a wonderful man, physician, father and husband.

Each time I look at Reese, I am so thankful for her and so thankful to Dr. Lyle for helping us bring her into the world. For this, Dr. Lyle is such an important person in our lives, and we will miss him greatly.

Sunday at Great Grandmama's

Great Grandmama has a rocking chair at her house. I'm learning to climb, and I enjoy rocking in rocking chairs, so it was perfect for me.

We enjoyed spending some time on Great Grandmama's porch, too.

Coaches Taste-Off in Auburn

Momma, Dadda, and I went to Auburn a couple of weekends ago for the Coaches Taste-Off. Auntie H and Keith went, too. Momma's sorority does this event where the Auburn football coaches cook ribs, then people bid on them in an auction. There are other prizes in the live auction as well as the silent auction. We ate bbq for lunch. I also got to go in the moon bounce.

As you can see, I'm still not too sure about this Aubie character.

This was Granddaddy's point-of-view.
However, he's a little better from a distance.

I'm very curious about everything.
Hi there!
Taking a break with Dadda

A Trip Down Memory Lane

This is one of Momma's and Dadda's all-time favorite videos, and we wanted to share it with you again. This is me laughing, at 7-months-old, without any hair. Enjoy!

Reese Rocks

Papa Tom and CoCo gave me this rocking chair just after I was born (or maybe just before - I forget), and it matches my bedroom furniture. And now that I'm getting good at sitting in chairs that are just my size, I'm really enjoying rocking in my rocking chair.

Elmo enjoys rocking, too.

My New Ride

Great Aunt Carmen and Great Uncle Jimmy gave me this cool wagon since it's so nice outside. My wagon stays at Great Grandmama's house for us to use when we visit her every Sunday. Dadda loves pulling me in my wagon.

New Spring Fashions

I'm so happy that warm weather is getting here. Now I can wear all the cute clothes that I received for Christmas and my birthday ... Plus things that Momma buys for me, too.

Pink and orange plaid top and shorts

Yellow polo with pink stripes and yellow denim skirt
Khaki shirt dress from Grandma Mimi

This onesie has a little girl with red hair pigtails

Polka-dot onesie with fun turquoise skirt

While Momma is shopping at Target ...

... I just take a little break.

And for My Next Trick ...

I got up there all by myself. Boy, was Momma surprised!

My First Craft

Momma is a substitute teacher at the Play School at our church. She subbed yesterday and today. When she subs, I get to go to the class where children my age go. School is a lot of fun. Today we did a craft - It was my first one ever. I made handprints with paint. Momma is very proud of it.

The message in the corner states, "If parents were flowers, I'd choose you!!! I love you, Reese"

Ready for Church

Momma and Dadda went to Sunday school this past Sunday, and I went to play with my friends in the nursery. Dadda got a few cute pictures of me all dressed up before we left. Aunt Carmen and Uncle Jimmy gave me this pretty dress for my birthday.
